How we work.

What is Radical Builders?

Radical Builders is an applied R&D organisation developing hardware for civil and defence applications. We bring engineers, inventors and end-users together to turn an operational challenge into a prototype and test it in practice.

Who builds with you?

We bring together teams of curious students, experienced inventors, engineers and industry partners. Each team is shaped around the challenge, combining fresh thinking with the experience to build and test real hardware.

What challenges do you take on?

We focus on ambitious problems where building and testing hardware can prove a new approach. Our current work spans maritime autonomy, aerial systems and subsea technology. We start with the needs of the people who will use it and test what works in practice.

What happens after the prototype?

A prototype helps establish what works and what needs further development. From there, we can continue with industry partners or help a promising concept grow into a dedicated venture. Radical remains the R&D home for new ideas and the next technical challenge.
